Hello, hello. Welcome to my beginner’s guide to Shadowverse where I’ll be introducing this game while looking at it from a new player’s perspective. In this episode, we’ll be going over the different classes in Shadowverse from both aesthetic and gameplay perspectives. Without further ado, let’s get started.
Shadowverse has a selection of classes to choose from, each with its own distinct playstyle. The seven classes are Forestcraft, Swordcraft, Runecraft, Dragoncraft, Shadowcraft, Bloodcraft, and Havencraft.
Whenever this follower attacks the enemy leader, deal damage to that leader until their defense drops to 0.
Hello, hello. Welcome to Shadowderp where we try to beat the Shadowverse Meta with the jankiest decks we can make. Today, I will be trying a Forestcraft deck that I’m calling “Derpwood Anomaly” based on the namesake card, Deepwood Anomaly. Before we start, I’d like to take a reminder for you to like, comment, or subscribe, yadda yadda. Anyways, let’s get started. Deepwood Anomaly is an 8 cost 8/8 that basically says if this card attacks the enemy leader, that leader dies. A powerful win condition, Deepwood Anomaly has never seen play in competitive tiered decks due to its high cost and lack of either protection or immediate game impact. That is, until now.
Shadowverse has been out for a year now and new players are starting to play even now as Cypress graces with us with perfect expansions with absolutely zero broken Spawns. I mean cards (thank god for nerfs). With new players joining the game, I wanted to see the game from a beginner’s perspective. Are new players just too far behind in the card acquisition race or do new players have a chance on the ladder?
Shadowverse is finally addressing the oppressive tier 1 decks of the Rage of Bahamut meta with some well-deserved nerfs to Piercing Rune and Goblin Mage. While the original article can be found here, the changes are as follows:
Deal 2 damage to an enemy follower, then deal 2 damage to the enemy leader. If an allied follower evolves, change the cost of this card to 1.
After Deal 2 damage to an enemy follower, then deal 2 damage to the enemy leader. If an allied follower evolves, change the cost of this card to 2.
Fanfare: Put a random 2-play point follower from your deck into your hand.
After Fanfare: Put a random follower that costs 2 play points or less from your deck into your hand.
So Darkness Evolved is out and my pulls were okay at best. There’s a lot of different decks I want to try, but none of the cards I pulled help me make those decks. Instead, I figure since everyone else is also pulling packs left and right, I would break down and rate the potential of each card. This way, if you do pull a legendary, you know what it can do.
This will be a 3 part series with 3 legendaries per part. Don’t worry though, I’ll be releasing these once a week instead of the usual two week schedule. We’ll be going in order of ascending cost because why not?
